Description
The front of the Dedicatory Exercises booklet lists the time, date, and place where it is to be held. It reads, "Dedicatory Exercises of the Joshua Hyde Public Library Building. Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Congregational Church, Thursday, July 22, 1897, Half Past One O'Clock." The interior page includes the Programme, which shows the order in which the events were to happen. The following were planned in this order: Prayer by Rev. Augustus M. Rice. Music. Introductory Remarks by Mr. Alvin B. Chamberlain. Historical Sketch by Mr. George H. Haynes of Worcester. Music. Address by M. F. Dickinson, Esq. of Boston. Music. Addresses by Mr. James A. Page, Master of the Dwight School, Boston, George S. Hyde, M. D. of Boston, and Mr. Samuel S. Green, Librarian of the Worcester Free Public Library. Doxology and Benediction.
